Rosie Trevill is an interdisciplinary artist based in Glasgow specialising in writing, textile silk-screen printing, performance and installation.

Rosie works both independently and collaboratively to address language and embodiment as acts of resistance and resilience within personal and societal frameworks, informed by queer and feminist discourse.

In Search of Deer/Dear (1978-2020)


Essay.

A rumination on Nancy Buchanan’s 1978 performance work Deer/Dear, this short essay considers what may be learnt from an archival approach in feminism and autobiographical performance in contemporary art. A duality in perspective is formed through the experimental combination of a permissive, creative writing method with a more considered, theoretical analysis.
